“The Measure of a Man” by Darius M. Ratcliff, December 8, 1944

THE MEASURE OF A MAN

Not the gold that we hold,

Nor aught else that we possess;

Not the fame of our name

Nor the creed that we profess:

 Is the measure of the man.

But the art of the heart

In expression of true love

This alone before God’s throne

Is all wealth and fame

As the measure of the man.
